Alexander Tate and Kirby Bristow are grudgingly symbiotic college roommates brought together by his girlfriend, who leaves them to deal with apartment payments and each other. They have more than money troubles to worry about, though. Alex is telepathic and suffers from prophetic dreams in a world where the supernatural is unwelcome. Kirby hates it when he pokes around in her thoughts, but she sticks around because he’s agreed to pay all the bills in exchange for her keeping his secret. Things get serious when Alex tells Kirby about a dream he had, one involving a murder on campus. When the dream comes true, they try to harness his “gifts” in the hope of catching the killer.
