This book goes deeper into the concepts of machine learning, takes you through an adventurous journey of experiments on text mining, regression and clustering using R. A prior programming experience is assumed and being with familiar with R will be an added advantage. The discussion and reasoning centres around the Use Case and technology takes a back seat. I am firm believer that learning concepts and technology using a Use Case has a long lasting impression than learning technology alone. Technology is only a means to achieving the Use Case. In the process of learning, we may come across specialised functions to handle a specific task, put them to use as required and move on, we do not necessarily build competencies on knowing the length and breadth of the function. This is so much true for learning open source platforms, likes of R and Python where the landscape is vast, it changes every now and then, some new capabilities keep mushrooming around. In a nut shell ‘Use Case’ is always the king.
