What questions do you ask in Agile Retrospectives? Here’s a card deck (PDF format) with powerful questions that you can use as inspiration!

This is a new product which consists of Questions Cards that can be used in Agile Retrospectives. Agile Coaches can use these cards to coach people and teams as part of an agile transformation.

The questions on these cards are based on the Manifesto for Agile Software Development. There are 15 questions for each of the four values of the manifesto, both for the left and right side of the value (it’s “over” so both sides are valuable).

Additionally, there are 12 bonus questions that you can use to help teams to think about their agile journey, and empty cards that you can use to add your own questions. In total there are 78 cards with questions and 3 support/information cards.

  • Bonus: Powerful Questions

These questions come from the many retrospectives that I have facilitated and from my workshops and coaching sessions.

The Agile Retrospectives Bingo can be used by teams and organizations to improve their retrospectives. It’s a game that helps them to identify and discuss unproductive behavior in retrospective meetings. With the Agile Retrospectives Bingo, teams can improve their communication and collaboration in retrospectives, making their agile retrospectives more valuable.

The Agile Retrospectives Bingo consists of ten bingo cards listing unproductive behavior like “blaming management”, “ignoring what is said”, and “bragging”. Additionally, there are nine role cards describing the way people may behave in retrospective meetings.

Playing with the bingo and role cards enables teams to reflect on their way of working and agree on what behavior they would like to see changed in their retrospective meetings. It helps them to discover how they are doing and what they can do in their retrospectives to become better in continuous improvement and deliver more value to their customers and stakeholders.

Agile coaches use the Agile Retrospectives Bingo in agile transformations to coach teams in retrospectives and help them learn how to change habits to communicate and work together more effectively.

A retrospective smell is a signal that something might be going wrong in your retrospective. It’s a warning that problems might happen that will impact the retrospective result.

The Agile Retrospective Smells Cards help you to recognize smells and act upon that by solving the problems or mitigating the impact.

This tool consists of 7 retrospective smell cards. Each card provides a description of the retrospective smell and a list of antidotes.

These cards are an Agile Coaching Tool for Scrum masters, agile coaches, and anyone who facilitates agile retrospectives.

Retrospective smells are early warning signals. If you recognize them and act promptly, it can make the difference between a failed and a successful retrospective. These cards help you to keep your agile retrospective meetings effective and valuable.
